Justin flipped the light on and groaned.  His mom had done it again.  He had been gone for only a month this time and his mom had rearranged his entire room.  Nothing was where it was supposed to be.  It was completely infuriating.  Not only that but he was certain that through the process of rearranging his mom had lost or thrown out some of his stuff.
Justin rolled his eyes.  This time he was really going to let his mom have it.  Unfortunately he lived in a very large house, which made his mom hard to find.  That is if she was home.  “Mom,” he first tried calling from his bedroom.  He waited a moment.  No answer.  But there was a noise.  
Justin went out of his room and down to the TV room.  The TV was on.  That probably meant his mom was home, unless she had just forgotten to turn it off before leaving.  She had done that every now and then, but it wasn’t usual.  So he figured his mom must be home.  
He started going through the house room by room.  He would call out to his mom but with little success.  As he started upstairs he thought he heard a noise.  Justin started going through some of the rooms but then he heard it again.  Frowning he went down to the end of the hallway.
The last door was shut.  That wasn’t unusual.  No one went in there.  Well okay so his mom went in there sometimes, but not very often.  Again there was that faint almost inaudible noise.  Justin looked around.  He had never been allowed into that room, but he was curious what the noise was.
Slowly he turned the handle.  The door swung open.  The lights were off.  Justin stepped into the room.  Something heavy hit him on the back of the head.  He felt himself fall to the floor.  He couldn’t see anything.  Justin reached up and felt the back of his skull.  It was sticky.  He didn’t know why.  Then there was nothing.
